Provigil or modafinil is a stimulant used as a sleep disorder drug. It affects suppression of CYP2C9 in vitro (like warfarin) but attempts to confirm this clinically has failed . It has been compared to caffeine as a stimulant, with caffeine being preferred (and cheaper). It statistically improves fatigue in some chronic illnesses but only at certain dosages.

It appears to be limited to some symptomatic benefits.
